The Bridge is the leading provider of substance use services in the Interior Health region. Our services include withdrawal management services for adults 19+ and youth 18 and under, a six-week live-in treatment program, a six-month supported recovery housing service, Naloxone training sessions, and outreach overdose support in the community.

 

Outreach Overdose Prevention Services

Supports individuals to access health and harm reduction services in partnership with Interior Health. Marginalized and vulnerable individuals are directly engaged at the street level and are provided with health information, social supports, and harm reduction supplies. The public may access harm reduction supplies through a vending machine located at 760 Hwy 33. W, Rutland or home delivery services by calling or texting 250-258-4938. 

Supported Recovery

Transition housing program in Penticton or Kelowna for adults seeking support for recovery from substance use. Provides fully furnished housing options in a substance-free assisted living facility. The program enhances independence with personalized life skills training, support and transition planning to promote wellness. Length of stay is typically six months. All applications are screened through the Interior Health.

 
 
 

Adult Withdrawal Management and Stabilization Services (Detox)

A medically supervised, secure residence for adults seeking safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. Length of stay is typically 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance the individual is withdrawing from. Offers 24-hour nursing and access to an on-site physician in a respectful, non-judgmental environment. The service is free and self­ referrals are accepted.

Youth Recovery House 

The Youth Recovery House is a live-in program for young people aged 12 to 18 who are experiencing problematic substance use. It is well-suited for youth with complex mental health and addiction needs, and for whom other less intensive community-based approaches have not been effective. The program provides a continuum of service, which can include withdrawal management, stabilization, treatment, and/or after-care. Self-referrals are accepted.

 

 
 

Bridgeway: Intensive Adult Treatment

A highly structured, intensive 6-week program for adult men or women seeking substance use treatment. Treatment is offered in a safe, live-in environment. Best suited for individuals with more complex and/or chronic use for whom other community­ based treatment approaches have not been effective. Referrals can be made by any member of the client's care team and applications are available on our website.

 

Naloxone Training

The Bridge offers free training on how to administer Naloxone as a response to the provincial overdose crisis and public health emergency. The training takes approximately one hour and is led by our award-winning nursing staff.
