BRIDGEWAY GRAY ROAD

The program at Gray Road is offered eight times throughout the calendar year with scheduled intake and discharge dates for 20 participants of a common gender, i.e., male-identifying or female identifying (participants are encouraged to apply for the group that they identify with the most). Referral sources and applicants are encouraged to check this page for updates regarding upcoming groups, which are determined based on needs and waitlists for services.

  • February 17th - March 31st (Male)
  • April 7th - May 15th (Male)
  • May 19th - June 29th (Male)
  • July 2nd - August 13th (Male)
  • August 17th - September 28th (Male)

  • November 12th - December 22nd (Male)

 

Please Note:

  1. Applications must be submitted at minimum 5 business days prior to listed intake date in order to be considered for that specific cohort, and admission cannot be guaranteed.
  2. If the applicant or referral agent has not received a phone call or email confirming an intake date, then a bed has not been secured. Admission cannot proceed on any intake date without prior confirmation from the Bridgeway administrative team.
  3. In order to offer the highest standard of care, we are not able to admit new participants once the cohort has begun.

 

 

How to Access the Service

Referrals are accepted from a person’s Community Based Substance Use Treatment Team, private counsellors, case managers, Registered Social Workers, or other professionals on a case-by-case basis who will be providing ongoing support for the applicant. Individuals on an Opiate Replacement Therapy are accepted. Self-referrals are not accepted. Applicants are to be medically and physically well enough to participate in programming and must not require a medical Withdrawal Management Program.

Upon acceptance if an application, an applicants will be provided with a confirmed intake date based on availability at Gray Road (male-identifying) or Ethel Street (female-identifying participants).

Once Part 1 has been reviewed and approved you will receive an email from the Bridgeway Intake Team and you will be provided with Part 2 of the Application Package.

The Medical Forms and Funding Confirmation section is included in Part 2 of our application. While Part 2 is only shared with a referral agent once Part 1 has been approved, the forms listed below are made available in advance. This allows referral agents to proactively address any anticipated barriers that may affect an applicant’s ability to access a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor, or to facilitate timely confirmation of Income Assistance funding if needed.

This form needs to be completed and faxed to MSDPR by the applicant's referral agent.
 

Application Acceptance: Once Part 1 & Part 2 of the application has been reviewed and approved you will receive an email from the Bridgeway Intake Team and you will be added to the Bridgeway waitlist or provided with an intake date.

Application Decline: If the application is declined, you can expect to receive a letter from The Bridge which will explain the rationale, provide some alternative resources and may provide consultation as requested.

What to Bring

  • Toiletries; shampoo, soap, toothpaste etc.
  • Running shoes and suitable clothing for recreation/swimming.

    • A gym bag and gym towel is recommended.
  • Face cloth if needed.
  • Appropriate clothing for the season
  • Cell phones, laptops, iPods etc. are acceptable.
  • Refillable water bottle &/or travel mug is useful.
  • Participants may bring a vehicle but should be aware that parking is on street only.
  • New and sealed vape pods and/or bottles.

 

Do Not Bring

  • Large sums of money
    • Small safes are provided in bedrooms for each participant. Reminder, you are sharing your space so please leave valuables at home
  • Perishable food (dietary restriction food is to be kept in the dining room fridge)
  • Sexual items and material – clothing, toys, pornography, pictures, etc.
  • Bathroom supplies with alcohol content – mouthwash, rubbing alcohol, etc.
  • Scented items – Perfumes, colognes and body sprays
  • Items reflecting, depicting drug/alcohol use logos, pictures, clothing, etc.
  • Used vape juice – pods, liquid bottles, etc.
  • Tools of any type – pocket knives, hammers, screw drivers, etc.
  • More than 1 carry-on size and 2 check-in size pieces of luggage
