What Is Etcetera?
Etcetera is a social group (not an educational program) where youth can participate in a planned activity or just hang out. We bring queer youth together in an intersectional, dynamic, and supportive space where you can: explore identity, forge friendships, build your sense of self-worth, find resources for mental and physical health, and gain empowerment for yourself and others.
Our members are 11–18 year olds who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Allies and More). We provide a safe space where you can make lasting friendships – you might even meet your new best friend here!
- Each group includes an opportunity to introduce yourself, a fun activity, and a snack.
- There is no cost to participate in the group, and you do not need to register in advance – just drop in to your age group.
- On your first time at group we will ask you to provide a little information (emergency contact, if you have one, allergies, etc.).
Parents and Caregivers – please note that Etcetera is a youth-only group. Supportive adults can walk in with their youth and speak to the staff but are not permitted to stay for the group itself. You are welcome to remain nearby (such as in our parking areas).
Etcetera also provides youth leadership training, and occasionally hosts/participates in special events.
