Employee Spotlight: Shannon
Aug 27, 2025

This month, we’re shining a light on Shannon (Shan), one of the newest members of The Bridge family. Shan has been with us for just four months, serving as Program Coordinator for Withdrawal Management, and already she’s making a meaningful impact.

A Proud Moment

When asked about a moment that stands out, Shan shared a simple but powerful story: “When a participant thanked me for being so kind to them over the phone.”

It’s these small moments of connection that remind us how compassion can make a real difference in someone’s recovery journey.

Living the Mission

Through her work, Shan sees The Bridge’s mission—transforming lives and building community—come alive every day. Withdrawal Management provides individuals with a safe, supportive, inclusive, and supervised detox. For many participants, it’s a first step toward a brighter future, continuing on to treatment either with The Bridge or with other organizations across B.C.

What the Community Should Know

Shan wants people to understand that Withdrawal Management isn’t a one-size-fits-all program:

Our nurses and WMWs are fantastic at understanding the personalized needs, requirements, and desires of each participant who comes through our doors.

This individualized care is what makes the program both challenging and rewarding.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoy it here, and am learning so much!” Shan says. Her passion for supporting participants and her willingness to grow alongside the team make her a valued part of The Bridge.

︎︎ ♥ Thank you, Shan, for all you do to support participants and bring our mission to life!
