At The Bridge Youth & Family Services, community engagement isn’t just part of what we do—it’s who we are. Every connection, partnership, and collaboration strengthens our ability to support youth, individuals, and families while fostering resilience and growth across Kelowna. Together, we’re creating lasting change.
We believe in the power of community. This year alone, we’ve partnered with over 20 local businesses and organizations. These connections allow us to enhance our programs with small yet impactful touches, like slippers and robes for new participants, outings to Kelowna Rockets games and the Kangaroo Farm to gym memberships and discounts on cell phone repairs, making their experience more welcoming and comfortable.
We’ve also shown up at over 30 events this year, including Kelowna Pride, Métis Rendezvous, and the Parade with a Purpose. These gatherings allow us to raise awareness, engage with potential donors, and celebrate the collective strength of our community. One of our favorite moments? Watson Road Elementary students stuffing a car full of donated toiletries for Youth Recovery House. The generosity of our community never ceases to amaze us.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of The Bridge. Whether cuddling babies, leading arts and crafts, or supporting special events like Kelowna Pride and Parade with a Purpose, their contributions make a world of difference. This year, we’ve updated our volunteer handbook and orientation to help them thrive. Many of our volunteers even go on to join our team as employees, proving their dedication to our mission.
Our staff is at the core of everything we achieve. From relaunching our staff Brown Bag events to celebrating significant days and participating in community events, our team continues to innovate and connect. This year, the Community Engagement team—led by Kelly Paley and Patricia Chandler—has been pivotal in driving these efforts forward.
Kelly Paley is our dynamic relationship-builder, forging connections with businesses, donors, and the community at large. Her energy and creativity inspire innovative partnerships that open new doors for The Bridge.
Patricia Chandler is the strategic powerhouse, ensuring our partnerships align with The Bridge’s mission and that every opportunity is maximized. Her thoughtful approach ensures lasting, meaningful collaborations that support our programs.
Together, Kelly and Patricia are transforming community engagement into a powerful force for change.
Every connection we make, every event we attend, and every volunteer or donor who joins us contributes to something bigger. We’re not just helping individuals—we’re building a stronger, more resilient community.
Thanks to your support—whether as a donor, volunteer, business, or participant—we’re able to reach more people and provide even greater support to those who need it most. Together, we’re making a lasting impact in Kelowna.
Whether you’re looking to get involved, donate, or partner with us, there’s a place for everyone at The Bridge. Let’s work together to inspire growth, resilience, and healthy change. Have an idea or want to help? Reach out to our Community Engagement team—we’re here to make it happen.
