Program Assistant, Parent Education & Support | She/Her

At The Bridge Youth & Family Services, it’s often the quiet, steady support behind the scenes that makes meaningful programs possible. Hafsah, a Program Assistant in our Parent Education & Support (PES) programs, has been part of The Bridge team for four years and plays a vital role in creating safe, welcoming spaces for children and families.

Creating Safety and Confidence

One of the moments that stands out most for Hafsah was watching a child who initially arrived feeling shy and anxious gradually grow more confident and comfortable in her care.

“These changes don’t always happen all at once,” she shares, “but seeing a child feel safe enough to open up is incredibly meaningful.”

By providing consistent, compassionate care, Hafsah helps ensure that children feel secure while their parents participate in programs and services — an essential piece of supporting the whole family.

Supporting Families Through Care and Connection

Hafsah sees The Bridge’s mission of “transforming lives and building community” in action every day through her work. By creating a calm, supportive environment for children, she helps remove barriers that might otherwise prevent parents from accessing the supports they need.

Her role helps programs run smoothly and allows caregivers the space to focus on learning, healing, and connection — knowing their children are cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Impact of “Small” Acts

One thing Hafsah wishes the community better understood is how essential her role is to family access.

“As a Program Assistant and child minder, my work helps families access support,” she explains. “By caring for children, I help ensure programs can continue.”

For Hafsah, even small acts — assisting with programs or caring for a child — can make a big difference. Being part of a team that supports families and strengthens the community is deeply rewarding.

We’re grateful for Hafsah’s care, dedication, and the quiet impact she makes every day in the lives of children and families at The Bridge.
