Amanda (she/her) joined The Bridge just over two months ago and is the newest member of the Etcetera team. As a Community Facilitator, her role focuses on building awareness of the program at community events and connecting youth with information about Etcetera.
Amanda also co-facilitates weekly group sessions alongside lead facilitator Jayda. Whether planning events or hosting group nights, Amanda is a strong believer in the power of play, creativity, and fun in queer spaces.
At a recent Trans Day of Visibility event, one youth approached Etcetera’s table with excitement, sharing that it was their first-ever pride event. They returned to the table multiple times when feeling overwhelmed and thanked the team for being there.
Moments like these remind Amanda that showing up in community matters. She is currently planning Etcetera’s Pride Festival booth and other outreach events for 2025 and hopes to see even more youth feel welcomed and connected in the coming year.
Employee Spotlight: Jayda – Centering Support, Celebrating Growth
Jayda (she/her) has been part of the Etcetera team since June 2024. As a Group Facilitator, she helps plan and lead weekly activities and snacks while also attending events in the community with Amanda to raise awareness about the group.
Jayda is known for her engaging activities and creative snack ideas, but what makes her proudest is the difference Etcetera makes in the lives of the youth who attend.
Many young people share that Etcetera is the first place they’ve ever felt safe enough to use their preferred names and pronouns. Jayda sees this as a powerful reflection of The Bridge’s mission to transform lives and build community.
Etcetera goes beyond weekly meetings. Facilitators help youth access food, clothing, care packages, and gender-affirming gear—whatever they need to feel safe and thrive. Jayda is proud to be part of a space where youth are respected, supported, and free to be themselves.
