At The Bridge, we understand that the teen years can be full of change, challenges, and new experiences. For young people dealing with substance use, those challenges can feel overwhelming. The Youth Recovery House (YRH) is more than a space for recovery. It’s where youth are empowered to embrace their identities and explore who they truly are. And ultimately, a place where they can build a future filled with hope.
YRH is the only live-in youth treatment program in Kelowna that runs 24/7. Youth receive personalized care that reflects their individual strengths and challenges. The program is voluntary and youth-centered, so participants are empowered to guide their own journey. Our team supports them every step of the way, meeting them where they’re at and helping them move forward.
At YRH, we help youth grow in all areas of life. The programming focuses on substance use recovery; everyday life skills; social & emotional learning and physical wellness.
They learn important skills like managing emotions, goal setting, budgeting, and cooking . They also take part in workshops and group activities focused on cultural learning, and recreation.
Our approach integrates both group and individual counseling with an in-house clinical counselor. Program Facilitators offer educational workshops and lifestyle-based programming on topics such as Okanagan culture, employment readiness, and healthy living.
Youth have access to 24/7 staff, a licensed clinical counselor, and wellness-focused workshops. YRH provides a supportive space that respects every background, belief, and identity. Since the program is voluntary, youth are empowered to explore recovery at their own pace.
Many youth come to YRH feeling unsure or guarded. By the time they leave, they often describe it as a life-changing experience, and for some, even a second home.
The Youth Recovery House is getting ready to move to a larger location in Glenmore. The new space will have more room, bigger grounds, and more activities to support healing.
With this move, we’ll be able to welcome more youth and provide even more opportunities for them to learn, grow, and thrive.
💙 Offer Opportunities – Are you a local business or organization? Consider offering volunteer roles or discounts on things like food, bus passes, or fitness memberships. These opportunities help youth gain independence.
💙 Share Kindness and Understanding. Help end the stigma. Promote compassion and awareness about youth substance use and recovery.
💙 Lift Up Youth Voices – Listen to young people. Encourage them. Support them. Believe in them.
